Dining Out - Hunan Chinese Restaurant

By Tom Weber

The menu includes standbys such as chow mein and more exotic dishes such as imperial lobster Cantonese.

This dependable Chinese restaurant has operated since the early '90s at Soldiers Field Plaza, the last five years under the ownership of Samath Ung.

"We want people to come in here and have a nice, clean atmosphere," Ung said. "We make sure the food is done the right way and it tastes the way it's supposed to taste."

Customer service is a priority, Ung said. "We want to make the customer feels welcome."

The menu includes standbys such as chow mein and more exotic dishes such as imperial lobster Cantonese.

Customer favorites from the menu? Sweet and sour pork and chicken top the list, Ung said. "And broccoli beef -- that's an all-time favorite," he said.
